Math Carnival

Two weeks ago, we had our first (and last) Math Carnival. The carnival itself is based on our lesson which is Probability. I was grouped with Aminy and Vivy. We came up with an idea of a game of shooting balloons with darts. Later that day, we prepared our station with tables and styrofoam. We managed to get some visitors; most of them would come back after playing several times. They couldn't get enough of the balloons!

What I learned from this activity : I got to interact with our visitors and learn how to encourage people to come to our station. We also got to work on our individual tasks to make everything easier. The Math Carnaval had pursued me to put my creativity into our game, so it feels really good that we could have a fun and interesting game on the day.

Our income was Rp 50.000, but that's not all that mattered. I've just gotten a precious experience and life-lessons from this :)

Venn Diagrams

We were assigned to make a venn diagram in this activity. Before, we had to make a survey then we made the diagram. It was really great to do the activity! :)

Reflection on Graphical Method

Our lesson in graphical method started from our understanding in line. We were also taught about how to solve for the slope, reading the coordinates of a point, and basics form of a cartesian plane. There were not many difficulties in doing it, but for me, the difficulties are in the methods of graphing a line. So far we have learned 4 graphing methods. The hardest for me is the equation of a line. We use intercepts. It's hard for me to understand. Another problem is how to graph it, because sometimes, the paper is not enough to graph a such big cartesian plane. That is the challenge of doing graphical method.

In graphing, another lesson we learn is how to be patient in putting the lines and coordinates altogether. We have to be patient so we can solve it. That's what I learn from our lesson in mathematics :)
